Teaching Gratitude!

Updated: Nov 22, 2022

Teaching Gratitude

Thanksgiving is a time to be thankful and grateful for all that has been given to us in our lives. It could be physical things or “more time” you were able to give to your family. Whatever it may be it is important to pass on and teach gratitude to your little ones. Below are a few fun ways to help teach your children to be grateful and thankful for all we have in their lives.

Read a book about being thankful or grateful. Head to the library, your local book store, or listen in your car. A few of my favorites are…

The Thankful Book -Todd Parr The Berenstain Bears and Joy of Giving- Jan & Mike

Berenstain Apple Cake a Gratitude- Dean Casey

Watch this fun video by the Kid President "25 Reasons to be Thankful"

Raising Grateful Program 30 minutes for parents. UNC-Chapel Hill research project. (this is really good if you have time!) It is a series of videos and information.

Gratitude Craft- a collage of what you are grateful for, gratitude jar, gratitude chain…basically add different things you are grateful for in your life.

Let me know what you think. I would love to hear how your family practiced gratitude this Thanksgiving!

Also, don't forget to join my Facebook group!

Have a great holiday week!
